Once upon a time...

Once upon a time I wrote a blog about how "men are awesome". While I still agree with what I wrote a month ago (because wouldn't that make me kind of bipolar if I didn't...?), I have decided I agree with it in principle, but it feels like no one practices what I preach anymore.

I would blame in on my poor choice in men, but really? I feel like all my sisters are having man problems lately. Guys, please take a direct hint. APPRECIATE YOUR GIRL. Because WOMEN are AWESOME too, and you keep forgetting to tell us that!

Really, that's all it takes. Just tell us we are pretty (and never never NEVER talk about how hot that one chick is in that one movie), and please show us that you actually care. NEVER point out something about the girl that she can physically improve on. I feel like the last couple guys I've dated have always told me I should lose weight. EXCUSE ME? I'm a BUCK-20 with a six-pack and CHANTEL RUBY LASER has to LOSE WEIGHT? Where the heck is YOUR freakin' six pack? Oh yeah, that's right IT HAS NEVER EXISTED.

If you want a diamond, you have to be one. If you want your girl to be smokin hot and smart, you had better be the same. Or at least work on the traits that you want your future spouse to have. Hey, you want your wife to cook and do the dishes? I promise it will NOT KILL YOU to pick up a pan, use it, and then clean it once in a while. Geez.

Sorry for the rant y'all, but as you can probably tell I am frustrated. I'm slowly but surely figuring out how selfish we all can be at times. But love is not selfish, it is selfless. Love is when you vacuum for your roommate while she is at work, and then when she comes home from a party to take you to emergency frosties when your man is being ridiculous.

So while I kick back in my summer classes where every single male in my classes is married (I kid you not), I'm going to work on being more selfless. And actually doing my homework. Wish me luck on my business law test tomorrow! I will most definitely need it.
