If life were a Chick Flick...

I don't think I could write chick flicks as good as real life. But I'm going to attempt to try!

Kristin likes this boy name Daniel. Daniel also liked her, but was much more excited about pursuing a relationship than she was. The last relationship she had been in had ended badly because the ex had cheated on her. This ex was also loco and would get jealous of everything Kristin did.

Daniel really wanted Kristin to be his girlfriend, but given the crazy homicidal ex she didn't it was such a good idea.... yet.

Daniel decided to give Kristin space... at least that's what Kristin thought. But when he stopped texting her and would cryptically answer texts when she asked what he was up to that night, Kristin was starting to think something was up.

Daniel was being eerily quiet, and Kristin decided to invite him over and cook him dinner. Daniel responded to this wonderful invitation with, "you're going to hate me, but I already have other plans." Kristin, wondering what had happened to this almost exclusive relationship, said "What happened to wanting to be my boyfriend? We need to talk."

Her darling roommate Chelsea skips in at this moment from getting an 88 on her last business law test (yay!). Chelsea is very perceptive and could tell Kristin was in a funk, and knew exactly what would cheer her up: getting the 4th season of Burn Notice on DVD! Chelsea grabbed her keys and her and Kristin ran down in their matching Harry Potter shirts to run to Walmart.

Chelsea was being overly goofy pretending to be this Harry Potter character walking into Walmart when all of a sudden Kristin gasps and says, "get back to the car, now!!!" Chelsea, being a blonde, was like "Wha-?" when she saw the DANIEL's back facing them and all of a sudden understood.

Kristin and Chelsea hunker down in the car watching Daniel's every move. Why was he at Walmart? Who was he on the phone with? After a while, he went over to the redbox and rented a movie. And then he walked away....

WITH A GINGER ON HIS ARM.

Kristin can hardly believe there was another girl in the picture! Chelsea (being the trusty sidekick in the story) just starts up the car and says, "We're following them!" They drove around the parking lot looking for his car but they couldn't find it. DRATS.

Just as they were about to leave, Chelsea exclaims "I see them! I see them! They must have gone to the other redbox at McDonalds!" Kristin puts on her sunglasses and buries herself in the passenger seat. Chelsea starts mimicking every turn they make, and Kristin finally reminds her, "Remember what Burn Notice taught you! DON'T FOLLOW SO CLOSE!"  They finally turned down some street and Chelsea turns around in a car dealership to throw off any suspicions. They turn down the same street and see they had pulled into an apartment complex.

Kristin is simply livid. The first person she called was Daniel's roommate Jason, who happened to be a good friend of Kristin's and was in Chelsea's home ward. Jason had no idea who Daniel was out with, but promised he would get details.

Of course, being the devout Christians they are, Kristin and Chelsea were acknowledging how they must have been inspired to go to Walmart at that exact time Daniel was there, and take Chelsea's car so that they could be more unassuming. They were glad to have been able to see themselves that Daniel was a lying cheating scumbag.

Chelsea and Kristin went to go pick up their other roommate Brittany from her work, and they all got pity food at Mickey Dees. Kristin and Chelsea filled in Brittany on all the details from the man hunt and Brittany could hardly believe what they told her was real.

Later than night after the girls had all settled down and were ready to go to bed, there was a knock on the door. Brittany, confused, yelled, "Who is it?" and when no one answered she opened the door.

It was Daniel. Holding a bouquet of roses.

Kristin was all sorts of confused. Daniel said he was sorry that they didn't communicate well earlier. This gave Kristin the chance to confront Daniel about how she saw him that night and was quote "being replaced by a red-head." Daniel was stunned speechless. He had clearly not expected her to find out about the other girl!

He tried to explain himself by saying, "I guess I should have told you that I'm also trying to get to know this other girl."
Kristin said, "But WHY would you ask me to be your girlfriend if you are still pursuing her?"
Daniel: "I'm sorry, I should have told you. But, um, do you still want to go on our date tomorrow night? I could just give my ticket to Chelsea..."
Kristin: "She's going out of town. And no, we made plans. Let's just see how this goes."
Daniel: "Alright, it's up to you."

After awkwardly saying goodbye, Chelsea and Brittany come up and admit how they were listening behind the door the whole time. They were both proud of Kristin for holding her ground and confronting Daniel about the red-headed chick, and not melting just because he brought her flowers. Because nothing says "I totally did something stupid" like bringing a girl flowers at midnight.

But Daniel doesn't know what's in store for in on tomorrow's date and the devious trap the girls had laid for him... stay tuned in to hear what happens next! I know I'm dying to know... :)
