Meeting Evan Lysacek

This weekend my familia and I went to the Sun Valley Ice Show. My mother claims this is a family tradition that we do every year, but in reality the last time we went was 3 years ago.

My family always enjoys the scenery in Sun Valley. For those of you who don't know where or what Sun Valley is, it is a little ski resort town northeast of Boise. It's a lot like Park City, UT but smaller and prettier. Lots of stars live there, like Bruce Willis, Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher, Jamie Lee Curtis and others. You can't really blame them for wanting to live there, it is gorgeous country far enough away from civilization to be annoyed by the paparazzi, but they still have all the added comforts of a Dolce & Gabbana nearby.

Anyways, we always like to arrive at Sun Valley early enough to window shop and see how the other half lives before we have to be seated for the ice show. There is also some really pretty gardens and ponds (that's where my new blog picture came from).

Apparently this is the 75th anniversary of the Sun Valley Ice Show, and all their regular skaters were told to do their best performances from the past. You see, the Ice Show is a variety of skaters with one headliner skater, and they all usually skate about twice and do a couple of group routines. There is even one funny man skater who likes to make fun of ice skating and the other skaters.

But Evan Lysacek was INCREDIBLE! Watching him was like literally like art or poetry. He had such amazing lines and his jumps looked effortless. He's quite tall for a skater, but that gives him even more of a presence on the ice. Not to mention he is quite handsome for a skater... *swoon*

(if you are going "Who is Evan Lysacek?" right about now, he is Gold Medalist male figure skater from the 2010 Olympics. He also won Dancing with the Stars. And its pronounced "lie-suh-check.")

After the show, a long line built up to get his autograph. My family kind of stood around and took pictures of him signing things, but I was too nervous to get in line and ask for an autograph. But we explored the Sun Valley Lodge long enough that the long was really short, and we jumped at the end. Security asked for the paper I wanted Evan to sign (I just gave him my ticket) and they handed it to him. He handed it back to me and I just stammered "Thankssomuch, youwerereallygreat." And he just said "thanks".

Thats the back of my head.

But I giggled and squealed like a school girl the whole ride home. I immediately put it up on facebook and I couldn't stop staring at his autograph. He has a really pretty signature!

I'm so glad I got over my extreme star-struckedness and met him. He seems like a really great person, and I really really really hope he's not gay. I don't think he is... but with skaters you never know!
