A Very Cuban Thanksgiving

Hello Everyone!

Did you have a good Thanksgiving? I had  GREAT Thanksgiving. I got to eat THREE different Thanksgiving dinners over 2 days. I definitely gobbled until I wobbled.

So we got to have the traditional thanksgiving with the turkey and the potatoes and pie. It was very relaxing, after dinner we painted our nails and put together puzzles. Afterwards, we went to our second Thanksgiving  with our Cuban investigators. Boy, do they know how to party! They didn't cook turkey, they cooked a whole pork leg. The delicacy is to eat the skin, which is crunchy like a pita chip. It was DELICIOUS. I know, I didn't think I'd like eating the stuff they make footballs out of, but it was so yummy. So we ate pork, rice & beans, a full avocado with salt (YUM) and yuka root with a yummy garlic and lemon sauce. For dessert we had tres leches cake and flan. I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. They were so fun, we spent the whole night laughing our heads off. Hopefully we can help these Cubans give up their coffee so they will be baptized. They are the cutest family!

Remember our miracle family from last week? Well Ilivea and her family came to church AGAIN! We love them so much, and everyone in the ward loves them too. Ilivea also does nails, so she gave me and Sister Stock manicures for FREE!!! :) When she was doing my nails she got a phone call from a friend and told her "I'm with the missionaries from MY church" and I about fell out of my chair I was so excited! And then she went on to ask what she could do for the church. Ilivea pretty much wants a calling already. They are so willing to learn and soak in all information, AND they participate in church!  They are on date to be baptized on the 20th and we are so excited! They are so prepared, so humble, and so ready. I learn so much from them.

I'm so excited to start the Christmas countdown! Mom send me some Christmas decorations and I can't wait to make our apartment a wonderland. Also, Sister Stock is being transferred and my new companion will be Sister Echols! Does that sound familiar? Because she was my MTC companion! So 15 months later we are reunited. It will be a blast!

Love you all! Have a great week!
