ITS CHRISTMASTIME! And what a better time to share some Christmas MIRACLES!!!
Ilivea and her family have had a rough year, to say the least. But ever since we knocked on their door they have seen some huge miracles! For example, they didn't think that they were going to be able to afford Christmas this year, but the school found this out and adopted them for Christmas! Also, Ilivea is a candidate for Habitat for Humanity and might have a house built for her! Not to mention the biggest miracle of all... they didn't have a washer and dryer and had been washing all their laundry by hand, until this weekend when they found a great washer and dryer! I'm so happy for them. I think this taught me two very important lessons: 1) our attitude in any circumstance should always be positve, and we will be blessed for it and 2) God will always lead those who trust Him. I've never met a happier, humbler family, and I know that is why they are getting so many blessings.
Also, Sunil had a huge breakthrough this week. Vani has believed the Book of Mormon was true for a while, but Sunil wanted to read more. This week we asked if he believes if the Book of Mormon was true, and this is what he said: "Stop asking me if it I know it is true. The more you ask the more I doubt if its true. I believe it is the word of God." Wow. I had such an eyeopener about the words we use. We need to ask people people "AS you come to know this book is true..." rather than "IF you come to know this book is true..."
One last little miracle, and this one actually involves me. I wasn't feeling very good yesterday, so I got a priesthood blessing. My favorite part of the blessing was actually the very last line: "Heavenly Father knows of your great love for His Son, and He loves you for it." What a great time of year to deepen our love for the Savior. I know that Christmas is truly magical. If we let it, it can truly bring out the best of us.
I love y'all! May all your Christmas caroling be warm and fun!!!!
