Hi Everyone!
Victoria came back! Diane's niece, the one that met Quentin L Cook with us and came to Diane's baptism, came into town this week. She lives about an hour away and she's about to graduate high school so she spent her spring break with us. We took advantage of her being there and taught her every single day! Really.
Victoria just adores us, and hey, we adore her too. But sometimes I never really understood why she just immediately loved us. Until this week when she mentioned that at her house, church stuff and God are pretty much frowned upon completely. Heavenly Father is such a focus at Diane's house, especially when we came over. Victoria has definitely felt like God has answered her prayers since we have come into her life.
But this was my favorite part about this week. Sometimes you just wonder if the stuff you say sinks in, ya know? We have so much fun with her, and we can be pretty goofy with Victoria, but this week she said, "I believe everything y'all have told me, but I just want to find out for myself that it's true." WOW!!! It really did sink in!
I think it's pretty amazing how friendships really can bring our friends closer to Christ. Let's be real, hanging out with Victoria wasn't always "missionary work" in the purest sense of sitting down, praying, teaching, leaving. We spent so much time with her, helping them clean the house, playing with Lollipop the miracle kitten, and helping Victoria with her senior project. But through all that, something sank in that rang true. Victoria even invited one of HER friends to come to church this week with us! And she came! It was so much fun!
Let's not underestimate how powerful our friendships and our examples can be in missionary work. People will notice something is different about you. I remember my boss asking me random questions about what I believed when I lived in San Francisco. You just never know what seeds you may be planting.
I testify that we are the Savior's hands in bringing souls closer to Him. We, through our examples and service, can be angels and answers to prayer.
I love y'all! Have a great week!
Sister Laser
