Little Miracles

Hello everyone!

Well, lets just have an honest moment. This week wasn't that great. No big, giant miracles happened this week. But please don't stop reading this email!

I think today I just need to celebrate the little miracles with y'all. I don't mention the little ones enough. Miracles really happen everyday if you look for them.

For example:
- Today at Kroger, Sister Tavenner asked me if I knew the song on the radio. I said how I could play that song on the guitar, and a random man who worked at Kroger said, "well, I don't think Joseph Smith would like you doing that!" Haha which started a great conversation. We found out he has LDS family members, and has read the Book of Mormon. We gave him our card. It was great.
- Yesterday we had this AWESOME dinner at a members home where they invited their non-member neighbors. This is seriously the best way to introduce missionaries to your friends. They can see that missionaries are NORMAL people (despite the funny clothes) and get a natural conversation going. In the end, the husband asked us if he could read the Book of Mormon. Not only did he ask, but he started reading it AS SOON AS we gave it to him. That NEVER happens. He asked us lots of great questions, and we look forward to meeting with him and his family soon.
- We are teaching a Catholic lady named Maureen. She's so great. She tells us "I won't join your church, and I won't come to church with you, but I'll pray and read the Book of Mormon." But luckily, the Book of Mormon combined with prayer changes everything. And she agreed to watch General Conference this weekend. She said she loves studying with us because of the scripture in Matthew: "where 2 or more are gathered in my name, I will be in their midst" or something to that effect. How cute. :)

So on that note: General Conference. How GREAT is it that we can sit at the feet of living apostles and prophets... in our PJs!!!! In my experience, people who WILL NOT go to church WILL watch General Conference. It is a great opportunity to invite friends and family to watch and learn more about the church.

So now I have a CHALLENGE! (uh oh, now you're wishing you HAD stopped reading my email) Will you invite someone to watch General Conference this week? I promise that as you invite, regardless of the outcome, you will be successful. I testify that we do have living prophets and apostles on the earth today, and they are truly inspired of Heavenly Father.

Have a great week!

Sister Laser
