How Great Shall Be Your Joy

After baptism with new personalized scriptures from Sister Laser

Hi Everyone!

Well, it finally happened. Diane got baptized. Words really can't describe how wonderful it was. She cried a lot, I didn't cry as much as I thought I would, but I still teared up.

Going on my mission, I wanted to have experience like the missionaries in the Book of Mormon, especially experiences like Nephi and Lehi had in Helaman 5. I really never understood D&C 18:5, which says  "And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall beyour joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!" Like, how could you have such "great joy" if you spend all that time and only 1 person changes? Well, I get it now. If Diane is the only person I help bring to baptism for the whole of my mission, it will be WORTH IT. That was probably one of the happiest days of my life.

I just want to quickly share my testimony of why I know this church is Christ's church on the earth today. I have seen Diane's life do a complete 180, a complete turnaround. She is a new person, Diane 2.0 as I keep telling her. And because of her, I am a new person too. Something that wasn't true couldn't cause this positive and lasting change in people. I know that the Church is true because I feel the power of God working through it every day. I love the Book of Mormon and know it has changed my life because it is true. It really is God's second witness to the Savior, and brings comfort and peace in a tumultuous world. Heavenly Father knew we would need extra help today, and that's why we have the Book of Mormon and true and living prophets, a modern-day Moses, to guide us today. When we follow the scriptures and the prophets prayerfully, we will be protected and guided in our lives.

I love y'all! Have a fantastic week!
