Hi Friends and Family!
It is another amazing week in Sharpsburg, Georgia. We found lots of amazing people to teach, and we had lots of miracles. But as always, my favorite miracle is Diane.
We went over on Wednesday night, and she was there with her niece Victoria and two of the girls that live with Diane. We decided to teach everyone the Restoration since the 3 other girls weren't familiar with our church yet. But my favorite part about the whole lesson were the parts that Diane was teaching. Y'all, that's unreal! She was teaching right along with us, testifying and all! My favorite quote from her that night was "I know God's power is behind the Latter-day Saints." Wow. What an amazing testimony. She even helped us explain priesthood authority of God, and helped explain why we need the Gift of the Holy Ghost after we are baptized. It was amazing. The three girls committed Diane to stop smoking, and Diane committed to be baptized on March 22! It was amazing!
We went back over last night, and we talked about what happens at a baptism and what she needed to do to be prepared for baptism. Her niece Victoria had stayed an extra 3 days with Diane (she's from Griffin) so that she could see us some more. It was really sweet. :) But then my favorite part was when I mentioned that there's usually a special musical number and Diane asked me if I would sing. Gosh, I'm crying right now just thinking about it. I don't think she knows how good that made me feel.
Something really amazing happened at the Dollar General this week too! We've been experimenting with store contacting. It's a lot harder than knocking on someone's door, because when you knock on a door you know that the person behind the door is expecting that you want something. At a store, people just think you're being friendly and don't necessarily have a purpose. Well, we were at the Dollar General, and we said hi to a lady who looked like she was rushing a bit. She walked past us, but then turned around and said, "Are y'all Mormons?" She told us how her mom was in town from Utah, and they needed to know where to take her to church on Sunday. So we met her mom, and got her number, and she told us how her daughter (that we had just met) really wants to become Mormon. AWESOME. I had been losing faith in store contacting, but that helped my build my faith in it again. It's still not my favorite thing to do, but it's a whole lot better than knocking on doors when it's dark outside!
Anyways, I just want to share a quick scripture with y'all. 1 Nephi 21:15-16 "I will not forget thee, O house of Israel. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands." I love that. I love that the Lord is with us, and will never forget us, because of the sacrifice He made for us. It was His mission in life to be our Savior, Redeemer, Exemplar, and Friend. The evidence of His love is on the palms of His hands. He will NEVER forget us. :)
I love y'all so much! I hope you have an awesome week full of miracles!
