MIRACLES

Hi friends and family!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!! Can you believe its only 2 1/2 weeks away? My favorite thing ever is singing Christmas songs and hearing Christmas music. This is my absolute favorite time of year. I LOVE seeing all the Christmas lights and Christmas trees in the windows. The South is really great at decorating for Christmas. My favorite is seeing all the lawn nativity scenes. But I have also NEVER seen so many blow-up decorations on lawns in my life!!!

But I also love the spirit that Christmas brings. I loved the First Presidency devotional last night. Such a good reminder of what the season is about. As a missionary, the true meaning of Christmas has never been so prevalent. As I teach people about the Savior and about eternal families, and am surrounding by the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ and His Atonement, it is so easy to love Christmas even more.

We had many miracles this week (of course, because miracles happen day by day! Alma 37:40) but I have to share my favorite and probably life-changing miracle. Since we are new here in Sharpsburg, we don't know the area very well. But I had been praying to know where we should go to find those who had been prepared to receive our message. I had this strong impression about this one neighborhood that we had passed a couple times. We had gone there a few times since, but hadn't gotten any impressions while we were in the neighborhood. When we went the 3rd time, I felt a FLOOD of the Spirit as we drove by this one house. It was such a strong feeling, it was incredible. So we of course got out and walked up to the door. We hadn't been having a lot of luck that day, so I was nervous. But Sister Heath imagined the person behind the door letting us right in. And that's what happened! She let us right in, we shared with her a Book of Mormon and invited her to come to church. She accepted! When we told her we were Mormon she said, "oh I have a cousin who's Mormon!" She was very nice. I hope and pray that things continue to go well with her. I know she is so important to God, and that is why we were led to her.

Merry Christmas! May the reason for the season be ever on your hearts. Alma 7: 10-13. This is my favorite time of year, because everyone is united in worshipping our Savior. I love Him so much, and I can never repay Him for all the mercy He has shown me. It must be frustrating for Him to work with such imperfect people. But He is perfectly patient, and I'm learning to be more patient as well.
I love you all! Merry Christmas!!!
Sister Laser
