Merry Christmas Adam!

Hi Family and Friends!

Merry Christmas Adam! We always call the day before Christmas Eve "Christmas Adam" because Adam came before Eve. Hope that's not too cheesy. :)

This week was fantastic! There were many, many miracles. First of all, Gregory, the 9 year old investigator in Fayetteville that I invited to baptism using Minecraft analogies back in September FINALLY got baptized on Saturday! And the bigger miracle was that I got to go! It was so fun seeing the Fayetteville ward and missionaries again, it was like a homecoming. It was especially fun to see the Campbell family, especially because they went out and met my aunt Diane a few weeks ago! It is so weird when worlds collide like that. :) It was truly a miracle, the Spirit was so strong, and that family is one step closer to being an eternal family.

Also, this week I continued one of my favorite traditions from home here in Georgia- CAROLING. We found some member friends to go caroling with, and they agreed to meet some neighbors and let us share a very quick message of the Savior with their families and friends. It was a great reminder to everyone that the gospel message is for everyone, and it doesn't have to be intimidating to invite your friends. If you imagine how much the Savior and His restored gospel have blessed your life, how could you not want to share that incredible gift with others?

(although, it was 60-70 degrees when we went caroling both Friday and Saturday night. Which was VERY un-Idaho, but nice. )

We also had an amazing experience. God truly is mindful of us, and knows our needs perfectly. We were led to this one man, he was a referral from his across the street neighbor. (If you remember how a few weeks ago I shared a story about being flooded by the Spirit as we drove by one house? Yeah, it's this person's neighbor.) We've tried them a few times, but they were never home, but their weiner dog was! It was this little black weiner dog that would bark and bark and bark at us, and follow us around the yard. It was all puffed up and it would stick it's ears out whenever we knocked on the door. But at the 3rd attempt we finally found someone at home. We started "We represent Jesus Christ-" and he said "well come on in! You have to let representatives of Christ in your home!" At this point, the dog finally shut up! It was so nice, it let me pet it and even sat next to Sister Heath as we taught. So we found out that this man had lost a cousin recently, he was very young and had a brain tumor. We came at just the right moment to bring him solace, usually he wasn't home at this time of day. We read from the Book of Mormon, and prayed with him. As we were leaving he said, "Y'all definitely have an angelic presence. This was definitely a divine connection. I know you were sent here to me today." I was speechless. So cool! The little black weiner dog was trying to tell us to come back and keep trying all along! Haha I always like being told that I'm an angel too. :)

Merry Christmas, everyone. May you keep your friends close and families closer. Please give your families a hug from me. And always remember that the greatest gift we have ever received is the gift of the Savior. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosover believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." This is the message that I have given 18 months of my life to fulltime, and devote the rest of my life to as much as I can. I want to have everlasting life, and share that gift with as many others as I can, with the help of His guidance. Everlasting life is so much more than living forever. It is living with our families, in God's presence, forever. And the only way we can receive that gift is following the Savior. By being baptized in His name, by the right authority, and enduring to the end, we ALL can have that gift.

I promise that this is true. I testify I have felt this gospel change lives. I love the Savior with all my heart. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

  1. Excellent letter. Great job with the Minecraft analogies. That's how the Savior did it, using things people were familiar with. Great story about the weiner dog man! And I've begun spreading the gospel of Christmas Adam. I can't believe I've been in the dark all this time!
