Hello everyone!
It's another wonderful day to be in Georgia. I'm loving the humidity, and as the weather turns cooler (and more bearable) it is just wonderful to be in the Georgia woods. As long as I don't get any more bug bites. :)
We had a BAPTISM on Saturday! Sidney got baptized, and she was so happy. Her dad, recent convert, baptized and confirmed her. We found a dress that fit her perfectly. She said afterwards that she would remember she got baptized today, she would feel all warm inside. She said in her prayer "I'm happy that I'm Mormon now." She's so sweet. All 8 of the missionaries serving in the ward did a special musical number of I Am a Child of God for her, and I even made cookies and brownies for the occasion. It went off without a hitch!
And Kylie is getting baptized on Saturday! Which is crazy because Saturday will be one month on the mission... how did that happen?!? I gave her the baptismal interview questions to practice, and the Spirit was crazy strong. She is ready! I love how the Lord prepares people.
Also, we had an AMAZING first lesson with a new investigator, Dominique. Dominique was all dressed up for us, she had read the pamphlet on the Restoration we gave her, and she had pulled out some college books on relgion and her Bible and studied for us. As we started talking to her, she said that when we found her and said "Jesus has sent us to you..." that it struck a chord inside her, and she had been searching for "a better way" to go about life. She had even invited a friend to come! So we taught her and her friend, Ashley, who are both young mothers. Ashley said she followed a lot of mommy blogs, and 80% of them were Mormon moms. She wanted to know what made our families such a focus in our religion and why they were so tight nit. Then we got to tell them about Relief Society and eternal families. The Spirit was so strong. We gave them each a Book of Mormon, and invited them to be baptized if they came to know what we taught was true. They said YES!!! It's such a testament to me that people have been prepared to be taught by us. They were so excited to come to church and read the Book of Mormon. So Cool!!!
And Cheryl... my goodness she is amazing. She already read 40 pages of the Book of Mormon. And she had lots of questions for us! Questions like: "What is Zion?" "Was the tree of life an actual tree?" "Why were they ashamed when they ate the fruit?" "Why is the church of the devil the whore of all the earth?" but luckily I had been studying the Tree of Life vision, and remembered a lot of the things I had learned in Seminary. See, the Spirit really can bring all things to your remembrance!
One thing I have been gaining a testimony of is exact obedience. If I don't go to bed right at 10:30, I'm completely tired the next day. It's little things like that, even though they seem small, can make a big difference. Sometimes we have to keep commandments or follow rules without knowing why we are following them. I promise as you follow the commandments, you will be blessed in your life in unimaginable ways. I've seen it happen in my life and the lives of many others that I have taught. I promise to be 100% committed to my calling as a missionary. Being focused on the work helps you to be happy and you are less homesick. Really! I miss everyone, but not enough to stop what I'm doing. This work is too important to do any less than 100%. We will be held accountable for what we accomplish on our missions for the rest of eternity. I'm not going to waste a single minute of the Lord's time. And I've never been happier or more blessed for doing so.

I love you all! Pray always, keep believing, and ALL things will work together for your good. Miracles really do happen, when we have faith and truly believe and call upon the Lord.
Fighting the good fight,
Sister Laser
