President Encounters

Hi Everyone!!!!!

So this week I had a lot of unanticipated time with our mission president, President Harding. So I'll share 3 different stories that involve him.

1) We taught a lesson with Eydie this week. President was planning on coming later, but we had intended to teach a different lesson when Eydie opened the door and said, "I just can't give up my coffee, guys. Sorry." So President swooped in and saved the day, teaching a two hour lesson on the doctrine of obedience. It was so cool to see your mission president teach and Eydie in her prayer committed to give up coffee. It was very impressive.

2) We serve in President's ward, and this week we had the Trunk or Treat. We had been told in our weekly email that we weren't allowed to dress up for Halloween. But we were doing service at a thrift store when we found these great dresses from the 80s complete with shoulder pads, and so all 3 of us bought one! So we were 80s missionaries, complete with a side pony. We even dressed up our trunk using plastic plates to make teeth for our trunk. I climbed in the trunk a few times and pretended to be eaten by the "candy monster"... until President came to the trunk or treat. But Nicole also came to the trunk or treat, and she came dressed as a sister missionary! She's so excited to be baptized this weekend, and she got to meet President Harding too! He was very impressed with her! (Luckily President just said we looked normal in our 80s dresses hahaha)

3) This week we were able to attend the temple with President Harding on Halloween. That was definitely a great way to spend Halloween as a missionary. I love going to the temple and learning more about the plan of salvation.

I'm so excited for Nicole to get baptized this weekend! She is so prepared and she's already helping us prepare for the baptismal program. I've never met anyone so prepared and so excited to be baptized.

I love you all, have a great week!
