What a great week! Being in a tri-panionship is SO MUCH FUN. It's amazing we are getting any work done. But yet we have seen the most amazing miracles this week!
I've come to learn from this week that I need to better appreciate the Book of Mormon. All these stories happened this week, and I was just amazed by how much people love the Book of Mormon and can't put it down when they start reading it with real intent.
Eydie. She went from being completely against giving up coffee, to quitting it cold-turkey on Saturday because every time she drank coffee her ulcers would act up. That's quite the answer to a prayer! And she came to church on Sunday, and despite this being her 3rd visit to our church, it was the first normal Sunday services. She loved it! She was so excited to tell everyone she was getting baptized this weekend. She is so amazing! I love this woman. She has made such a huge change in her life and she loves the Book of Mormon. There were several times this week when she called us and said that she felt inspired to read the Book of Mormon and she felt like it was speaking directly to her. And what was cooler was that the day she read Alma 43-44, I had just read those same chapters that morning and we were able to talk about it!
Nicole. She finished the entire Book of Mormon in just TWO WEEKS! That's a new record! And she's so excited to be baptized next Saturday, she's already picked out who she wants to baptize her and everything. And for the Trunk or Treat on Wednesday she's dressing up as a Sister Missionary. :) We are so proud of her! And she just loves coming to church. I've never met anyone so gung-ho to join our church. Amazing!
Ike, Maria, & Becca. This is the family that knows Sister Stock's family in Washington. We met with them on Monday and Ike had just devoured the Book of Mormon. He had read to 1 Nephi 14 and read us all of his favorite parts from those chapters- which was pretty much half of what he read! He says when he reads it he just can't put it down. He doesn't want us to tell him anything that happens in the other chapters because he doesn't want us to "spoil the ending." Maria is earnestly seeking revelation from the Book of Mormon and has been reading with their 12 yr old daughter Becca every night before bed. She always begs that they can read more! They are the sweetest family and we can't wait for them to come to church.
Goodness, I just love the Book of Mormon. I love being a missionary. I love having two amazing companions who just constantly laugh. Life is so good!
Love you all!
Sister Laser
P.S. We went dog walking this week. Some of those dogs were so rambunctious! And some of them were so sweet. But we all three had to walk one dog because the dogs couldn't be around each other because they might fight. Then we got to play in the kitty room with all the kitties. I pretty much died and went to heaven. One kitty looked a lot like Lemonade and was so nuzzly. So fun!
