Cold Weather & Indians

Hi Everyone!

Things are going pretty well over here. I have decided I love 2 things: cold weather and Indians. I'm not talking about the Native American kind, but people who have actually emigrated from India.

Why I love cold weather:
1) Drinking hot chocolate, especially when members make you gourmet hot chocolate. :)
2) Soup season! I love all kinds of soups, and we have had a lot of soup!
3) Crocheting. I've been crocheting a lot, which especially helps when
4) People let you in because it's so cold outside.
STORY: So we were outside tracting on a particularly cold day. Yes, I know I'm from Idaho and I'm supposed to be used to cold weather, but humid cold is so much different than Idaho cold. It seeps through your clothes and makes everything cold. We saw this house with an adorable sunflower wreath and we went to knock on their door. Inside was a cute couple named Roy and Jeanene who let us right in! Jeanene loves crocheting too and asked for the pattern for a crocheted headband I had just made and was wearing.
And they have lots of member friends and have visited Temple Square at Salt Lake City! I think my favorite part of this miracle was that we had set a goal to find two new investigators that day, and we would reward ourselves with Frosty's if we did. Roy and Jeanene were literally an answer to a prayer! (and also proof that we shouldn't bury our talents- we might find cute grandmas who like to crochet! LOL)

Why I love Indians:
1) Their houses always smell like curry and red chili powder.
2) They are SO NICE. They usually will let us right in, even when we are complete strangers.
3) They always tell us we can come back and see them, and teach them about Jesus, even though they are usually Hindu and believe in many gods.
4) They have the coolest names that have significance. Like Dipesh- it means the Light of God. Or Tanvi, which is "slim girl". Which makes up for the fact that they are very hard to say... haha.
5) Nicole was born and raised in India until she was 7, so she has been coming with us to a lot of appointments with our Indian investigators. She is a HUGE help for us! :)

So, that was pretty much our week. It was a good one! We had a family come to church for the first time yesterday, and everyone loved them so much. Can't wait to keep teaching them!

Love you all! Have a great week!
