So they are actually filming the Walking Dead Season Five here in Senoia right now. I keep forgetting to mention that. I had no idea how many movies and TV shows are filmed here in the South! So even though I'm sad I'm no longer in Vampireland (Covington), at least I get to be in Zombieland! Hahaha
But it was a great week this week! We had an amazing experience this weekend. We tracted into this girl named Nicole about a month ago. She didn't seem too interested at the time, but we were persistent in setting up a return appointment. When we came back, her adopted father was very rude and pretty much started Bible bashing us, so we didn't go back. But then we got a media referral for this same Nicole! Some incredible things have happened in her life over the past month. She has Mormon friends, and she wears dresses a lot so she gets accused of being a Mormon a lot. So her friend dressed her up like a Missionary and had her teach a lesson with the elders to a family (I'm pretty sure the family she taught were also members). Then she went to church with her friend and loved it! At the ward she went to they found out she had 2 horses boarded, so for an activity they went to where her horses were boarded and went riding. Somehow through this experiences, she was donated FIFTY horses! And then the elders and sisters helped her move this horses over to where she was boarding her other two horses. Needless to say, her curiosity in Mormons increased! She then started reading the Book of Mormon, and got to 2 Nephi 31 in just ONE WEEK!!!!! We met with her on Saturday, taught her the first lesson, and then she came to church the next day. She says she wants to be a Mormon because she knows that would be the best path for her to take. I love this girl!!!!! She is so smart and so dedicated! WOW!!!! She is preparing to be baptized on November 8th.
Then we saw the "Kitten" family again. There were the #1 miracle family from my 7 miracles email a couple of weeks ago.Their uncle Karl just went through some major surgery on his brain, and we felt inspired to teach about priesthood blessings. So we were able to arrange for Karl to be given a priesthood blessing from some of his neighbors who were members. It was a powerful experience. The spirit was so strong, and Karl was promised that all prayers offered on his behalf would be heard by our Father in Heaven. So cool! Afterwards he cried, we read him Alma 7:11-12 and testified that the Savior would be with him every step of the way. Then we gave him a Book of Mormon, and he promised he would read it. The way that he held it close, almost cradling it, after we gave him the Book of Mormon was a huge sign that he really understood what that book had to offer him.
And we have transfer news! Sister Stock and I will be staying together, and we will be getting a third companion! Her name is Sister White, and she's been serving in our ward with us for the last 6 weeks. She's fairly new, but she is funny as all get out. We are so excited!!!! Plus I get to see Sister Reading, Sister Heath, Sister Tavenner, and Sister Mataele again! One big happy reunion!
I love you all so much! Have a great week!
