Hi Everyone!!!!
Goodness. This week was simultaneously the worst week and the best week of my mission. So many HIGH HIGHS and so many low lows. Funny how the Lord works that way, huh?
First of all, please please PLEASE everyone pray for Vicky. She's questioning a lot right now and facing opposition from her family. She has committed not to give up, but she is still looking for a definite answer to her prayers. I know the Lord will bless us all as we continue to pray for her.
But Kathryn's daughters got baptized on Saturday! It's so amazing how only a month ago Kathryn got baptized, and gave the perfect example to her daughters. It's pretty unbelievable for a missionary to find, teach all the lessons, and baptize someone in a month, let alone THREE BEAUTIFUL GIRLS! Terria, Aaryanna and Breanna looked so gorgeous in white. We all couldn't stop smiling and hugging each other. Kathryn said of her girls, "I love my beautiful white angels." They each watched each other get baptized, huddling around the door from the bathroom to the font, and when they all were back in the bathroom we asked, "How do you feel?" Each one said, "I feel so happy!" and that's all they could say. They were all smiles and giggles.
But then the next day, church started and their ride came to church empty handed. I was so frustrated. During the sacrament I was praying furiously "Heavenly Father, haven't I done my part? There is absolutely nothing else I could do for these girls. Please just help them get here so that they can get the gift of the Holy Ghost." And then I looked up and in the hallway, I saw them! They came late! So after the first 2 speakers all three of them were confirmed by the 2nd counselor. They had the most beautiful blessings promised to them. Each was promised to be a peacemaker in their homes, and to be sealed in the temple with their future families. Terria was promised to continue learning so that she could share the gospel. And that's when I completely lost it. These girls are going to leave a lasting impact on so many people. Terria might even serve a mission! And she would be amazing. They will bless so many peoples lives, and I got to be lucky enough as to have a front row seat to the rest of their wonderful lives.
Wow. Nothing is quite as rewarding as a missionary. I'm so grateful Heavenly Father gave me such a privilege as to help teach them.
Also, Harold got the priesthood last Sunday and yesterday he helped to bless and prepare the sacrament. He did such a good job! He is absolutely thriving in the gospel. He comes to church every Sunday at least 15 minutes early and studies every day. What an amazing guy!
I love you all so much. I miss you tons, but wow. Nothing could ever replace the wonderful things I get to do for the Lord while I'm on a mission.
