Hi Everyone!
Well, my bug bites have gone away. Yay! So I'm definitely a lot happier about life.
Just guess where Vicky is in her reading. Actually, you'll never guess. This amazing woman has finished the entire Book of Mormon, the Pearl of Great Price, and is halfway through the Doctrine and Covenants. HOLY WOW. I've never met anyone who has read this much EVER in just a month! It's insane! Vicky is just the coolest. She told us that when she lived in New Mexico, elders had knocked on her door several times and she always told them no. But because of amazing member friends in her life, and because the Lord prepared her to receive the gospel, she was finally accepting when the missionaries knocked on her door.
I'm just so thankful for missionaries who despite rejection, continue to do their job. I'm so grateful for the missionaries in New Mexico that persevered and knocked on her door. It's a good reminder to me that I need to persevere despite hardship, because we NEVER know how our efforts will be rewarded in the future.
And Terria and Aaryanna LOVED girls camp. They made so many friends and they both just blossomed. They are so excited to get baptized on Saturday they can hardly stand it. I'm so excited to see this family grow closer together in Christ and to see how much the gospel changes their lives and their family.
I just want to bear my testimony about bearing my testimony. Today is the 11 month mark of my mission. (WHOA.) I've come to realize that the best thing I can do as a missionary is to bear my testimony. Not because my testimony is earth shattering or super duper wonderful. But bearing my testimony brings the Spirit into teaching the fastest. It opens up the Spirit to speak through us. We are promised in D&C 85:84, 88 that when we open up our mouths they will be filled, and angels will watch over us. I've definitely felt that throughout my 11 months as a missionary. I'm so excited for the next 7. I never want it to be over!
