Family History, I am doing it!

Hi Everyone!

So I guess I'll just start with the bad news. Ilivea and Kenya did not get baptized after all. It was really sad, but it will work out for the best. Just pray for them please!

But I think I had a very fantastic birthday! I got to go to the Georgia Aquarium, and it was phenomenal! My favorites were the sea otters. They are so cute and happy! The dolphin show was really cheesy but the dolphin tricks were amazing. I was so spoiled by everyone for my birthday, I got to eat lots of chocolate and crepes. One of the elders in my district loves to cook and he made me a cake that was a giant kitty face. It was wonderful!

So I've recently gotten into family history. The church has just produced a My Family booklet, and our mission president asked us to fill it out. I thought I knew my family history, but I was wrong! My parents and my aunt Diane sent me pictures and stories and I learned so much. I've been feeling the Spirit of Elijah more and more, and I carry around My Family booklet everywhere I go.

Last night we had a cool miracle, we stopped by a lady's house that we haven't seen in a while. Out of the blue she asked about the family history center. Since I was prepared, I showed her the My Family booklet and promised to get her one. She flipped through, looked at the pictures, and said, "You look a lot like your mom, by the way." BIGGEST. COMPLIMENT. EVER.

I always thought that since most of my family have been members of the church their whole lives, that most of our family history work would be done. But just like we need to learn about God to know who we are, we need to learn about our family history to learn where we come from. It is so cool to look at old pictures of my great-grandma Ruby as a teenager, because I'm named after her, and to learn more of her story.

I love you all, have a great week!
