Wow. What a week. Just full of miracles.
Harold got baptized. I told him on Thursday that when he came up out of the water, to just soak in the Spirit and take 2 deep breaths. I feel like to often we rush through that ordinance, so I made sure that he really would take it in and let it become part of him. So after Brother Montana baptized him, he just stood there for a minute. The Spirit was so strong. Brother Montana, not knowing that I had told him to soak it in, said, "That's it, Harold! You did it!" And then gave him a hug. It was so touching.
My favorite sound in the whole wide world is the sound of someone getting baptized.
On Sunday, Kathryn and Harold were both confirmed members of the church of Jesus Christ and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Brother Montana said that when he gave Harold that blessing, the Spirit was so strong that he could hardly compose himself. I'm so grateful to know that I helped Harold and Kathryn get in the right path.
And that's not all! This week Kathryn's daughters were so thrilled about their mom getting baptized, that they begged us to know when they could be baptized next! They wanted to do it this Saturday, but Kathryn was a little uneasy with Girls Camp coming up in 2 weeks. So Teirra (14), Aaryanna (12), and Breanna (9) will be getting baptized on July 19th! We are so excited for them, and they keep telling us how excited they are too! They are making so many friends at church and learning so much. Their whole family is just changing, which I love to see!
We also saw Vicky this week. We had committed her to read the introduction to the Book of Mormon, but when we came back 4 days later she had read AND reread up until 1 Nephi 11! That's 25 pages! She had the most amazing questions. She said when she studied the Bible, there were so many holes that the Book of Mormon was completing. She loved how we don't believe in the Trinity, because to her the Trinity makes no sense in comparison with the Bible (because the Trinity just makes NO SENSE. AT ALL). Her questions led us to teach the Plan of Salvation, and my favorite part was when I asked, "How much time do you have? We'd love to teach you more!" She said, "I have as much time as you need." WHO SAYS THAT?!? She asked so, so, so many good, quality questions and she is really showing that she is dilligently searching. We had a very touching experience together.
I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY. Missionary work is not hard work, it is heart work. (Isn't that a great quote? I came up with that this week in the shower!)
I love you all! Have a great week!
