Today's email was inspired by a new Mormon Message. If you want to understand my email, I suggest you follow this link and watch it. It's very short- and very good. I promise!
I watched this a few days ago and already found a couple ways this applies to my own life.
First of all- my former life in San Fran. I remember sitting in my bishops office, asking if I should accept this job offer from Black and Decker, or go on a mission since I had just turned 21. He said, "Well, a mission is never a bad decision." But after praying about it, I felt like I needed to take the job. But I know that job prepared me so well for my mission, and if I had left on my mission right then I would have always wondered what would have happened if I had taken the job. But now I have the reassurance that the road I'm on right now- my mission- is the correct road. I've never been happier and there is no way you could pay me enough to leave Georgia.

Secondly, an experience we had this week. We had Zone Training in Atlanta this week, which meant we got to go to the temple. We got there 45 minutes early, and since it was 7 am we were hungry. So what do we do- go for a donut run, of course! (I promise, this story will tie back into the gospel soon.) So we plug Krispy Kreme into the GPS and go on an adventure. However, traffic was terrible, and when we got to the Krispy Kreme- it had been closed down for YEARS. We were so disappointed, and then had to go all the way back, and the whole trip took 45 minutes. So now we arrived frustrated and still donut-less. But we went to the temple, had zone training, and all was well.
That night, we were practicing our new skill of talking to everyone. I had felt prompted to go visit someone in our apt complex, but on our way to go see her, we saw someone getting out of their car about 30 feet away from us. We were feeling bold and pumped from Zone Training so we went to talk to her. She opened up right away, told us how hard her life was right now, and how she just wanted peace in her life. We started talking to her about the gospel and she honestly wanted to learn more. I gave her a Book of Mormon and promised it would bring her the peace that she was seeking for, and this was the answer to her questions. She was so grateful, and said, "Hey, do y'all want donuts?" Sister Raley and I LAUGHED and we said yes! She said, "I just went to Krispy Kreme, so take whatever you want!" At this point we were laughing hysterically and told her the story of our 45 minute donut-less donut run earlier that morning. We told her it was inspired that we meet each other today- she needed the gospel and we needed Krispy Kreme! Doesn't Heavenly Father have such a great sense of humor? :)
Which leads me to my final discourse on miracles. Because what kind of missionary would I be if I didn't preach a little? :) Mormon 9:18-21. God is unchanging, God IS a God of Miracles. He can only show miracles when we exercise faith in Him. And this promise is to EVERYONE. We can all see miracles in our life, if we simply have the faith to look.
I LOVE YOU ALL! Thank you for the prayers sent my way. Have a wonderful week!
Love and faith,
Sister Laser
