The Joys of Service

Hi Everyone!

This week we got to do a lot of service. We have been volunteering at a non-profit thrift store, we mostly help with the sorting and hanging of clothes. But it's fun because it's different, and we know that those we work with are noticing how we are different.

We also helped a family who just moved into a new home. The mom was a member of our church but now is inactive, and her husband isn't a member. We helped her set up her 3 yr old daughters room while she was in Disneyworld. The parents wanted her to come to their new house already thinking it was home so the transition would be easier for her. It was so fun because her room is so pink and girly, and Sister Laser got to swing a hammer again and I had a BALL. :)

Also, we did service a few weeks ago where all 8 of the missionaries in the ward planted grass. It was a process of adding topsoil, spreading fertilizer, scattering seed and then covering with hay so the birds wouldn't eat it. It was fun and hard! I was praying that the grass would grow because I was convinced it wouldn't. But it did! It looks awesome!

 We are also having miracles in finding new investigators. We had a girl in our ward take us to give her friend from school a Book of Mormon for her birthday. She said the best gift she knew to give her was the gospel, because she knows how much it blesses her own life. She bore such a powerful testimony and her friend, Tia, said, "yes, I can't wait to read it!" It was amazing. We also went "harvesting" (knocking doors) and we met Beth. She told us how she hadn't found her place in Georgia yet (after living here 4 years), how she was having a hard day that day, and how she knew the Lord truly had sent us to her. It was amazing! I know the Lord truly prepares His people to receive His message- and prepares His people to share it with others too!

I love you all! Thank you for the love and support and prayers. You are truly wonderful, chosen children of our Heavenly Father and He has an amazing plan for all of us.
