Country Life

Hi Everyone!

Pretty much I'm getting so entirely spoiled out here. I'm getting fed good Southern comfort food every night, and I'm stuffed to the gills. Pretty sure I'm going to gain 60 pounds in this ward. Also, a member gave us fresh local honey which is so flavorful it is addicting. And another member brings us fresh eggs from their chickens every week. Holy cow, those eggs are so good! The yolks are almost orange and so creamy, I made scrambled eggs in the normal way I always make them and they tasted 10 times better. Wow. I'm kind of getting sold on the country life.

Not to mention out my back door we see squirrels and bunnies every night. We see them so frequently I've started naming them.

But I think my favorite part about country life is the people. They are so humble! When they say they will come to church, THEY ACTUALLY COME. Wow! We had 3 investigators at church yesterday. And they all enjoyed it and felt welcomed and understood everything. That right there is a miracle.

But I think my favorite thing that happened this week is when we did some finding on Thursday. Thursdays are usually less than successful days for knocking on doors. But we went to 2 different places, and the biggest miracle happened. No one said no to our message! (Ok, 2 people weren't interested. But out of the 16 people we met? That's amazing!) We were led by the Spirit to some amazing individuals who were so receptive to our message. One young man let us right in and asked if we would pray with him. Danny was so concerned about the changing world around him, and saw how God's laws were being changed by men all the time. He was very excited to read the Book of Mormon and to hear what the prophet today is saying.

I also learned a very important message this week. Lately, I have been getting frustrated with myself because in my eyes, I'm not a perfect missionary. My own expectations for myself have been way too high. But then I remember that the Lord called me on this mission, not me. He has His own perfect expectations for my mission. He knows my weaknesses and limitations, and He has His own perfect plan for how my mission should be. So the only person who's expectations I should try to reach is Heavenly Father's, because it really is His mission for my life. Truly, the only thing we have to give to our Heavenly Father that He hasn't given us is our will. When we sacrifice our will to His will, the Lord can do truly amazing things with us.

I know my Savior lives. Through the Atonement, all that is unfair about life can be reconciled. The Lord hath made everything beautiful in His time. Ecclesiastes 3:11

I love you all! Have a great week!
