So for my strategy class I have to blog about a concept we learned in class. But, this takes away from my first love in blogging, talking about dating! But I'm going to find a way for Porters Five Forces to relate to dating.
1st: bargaining power with suppliers. This is like your parents. If they don't like who you're dating, good luck paying for your own wedding!
2nd: bargaining power with consumers. This is like your friends and roommates. If they don't like who you're dating, that should be a huge red flag!
3rd: threat of new entrants. This is like other people who are interested in your significant other. If your significant other still picks you, hold on to them because they are a keeper!
4th: threat of potential substitutes. This could be people you are interested in while you're dating your significant other. If that's your problem... Good luck! You're going to need it.
5th: competition within the industry. There is so much pressure to get married at BYU, but don't get married for the wrong reason whatever you do!
See? Business strategy can be fun! And totally applicable to life!
